First-year DARCH course on urban contexts

Baltazar is a feasibility study of a mixed-use site in Balterswil, Switzerland. It explores the potential of the plot, regarding maximum building volume, height, and area, in two distinct variants: one that requires the division of the plot in two parts and one that doesn't.

In the context of the Gallus Campus project, we built BIM models for all existing buildings. Having detailed architectural information is especially useful in the management of large building complexes and can also serve as a basis for future renovation projects.

We know that we are facing an architectural challenge when we find a neighborhood with more than 30 underutilized plots.

Located on the prominent Clarastrasse street in Basel, this new construction residential building intends to bring life to this dimmed part of the neighborhood. This is to be achieved through strong greening and an inviting arrangement for a diverse public.

The Belvédère educational complex is a national heritage site in Lausanne that overlooks Lake Leman. This project is an open competition for an extension of the school.

Online learning platform for architectural design technologies

The Briner® project is a renovation of an industrial warehouse of about 1,200 m2 and 9,200 m3, for commercial and office purposes, following the principles of reuse and sustainability of the Campus Gallus project.

In a second iteration of the study of this plot in Wildhaus, Switzerland, the potential for residential use was explored.

The most valuable characteristic of this hilly plot of land inWalkeweg, Switzerland is its beautiful view of the Alps, so whendesigning a new construction hotel our main focus was to maximizethis asset, thus also maximizing potential profit. We achieve this bycarefully placing the buildings towards the best orientation.

The study centers on a 3,200 m2 plot of land in the town of Arlesheim, Basel-Landschaft, which is currently underutilized. The aim of this project was to show the owner the potential of the plot within the limitations of the zoning regulations.

This sustainability-focused competition for a school in Basel is set in the urban context of a new affordable housing neighborhood.

This is a BIM model of a residential complex consisting of three 5-story buildings with gable roofs and two smaller commercial buildings.

In an underutilized urban space with a prime location, the city of Bern launched a competition for ideas to integrate heritage buildings, the Aar River, a bridge, and a park.

As a result of a change in the zoning regulations of this neighborhood in Basel, the building is up for an extension, to meet the new maximum building area and height allowed.

Starting from a very brief study of the site and existing buildings of an industrial use plot, several different projects were born: a new building project, a renovation project, and a BIM project, as well as a great work relationship with the landowners.
